Northern Mindanao Region (Region X)
Northern Mindanao is occupying the north-central part of Mindanao. The regional center is Cagayan de Oro City, where the national government's regional offices and other big establishments are located. Lanao del Norte was transferred to Northern Mindanao from Region XII (then called Central Mindanao) by virtue of Executive Order No. 36.
